Papantonis Winery's vineyards covers 15 acres acquired in 1979 after extensive research. The domain, situated just outside of Malandreni, near Argos, belongs according to Greek Law to the viticultural region of Nemea for appellation of origin wines (QWPSR/VQPRD). At an average altitude of 320 meters above sea level, and within steep hills and deep valleys, the soil is sandy clay with unique draining properties allowing for the slow maturity of the grapes. The region boasts an ideal microclimate (dry hot days and cool moist nights) for growing the most exquisite local varieties of grapes – Agiorgitiko or Saint George, and Rhoditis – carrying excellent wine producing specifications.
